What is FRAME ?

What is FRAME ?

FRAME is not merely a decorative border.
Nor is it a frame for cutting out
a beautiful part of the world.

FRAME is a structure
for creating space
between the self and the world.

Through that space,
even the world we thought we knew
can reveal a depth
we had not yet seen.

To receive that way of seeing
and hold it within painting —

that is Miho Ishikawa’s FRAME.

FRAMEは、ただの装飾的な枠ではありません。
世界をきれいに切り取るための枠でもありません。

FRAMEとは
自分と世界のあいだに余白をつくるための構造です。

その余白によって、見慣れていた世界にも
これまで見えていなかった深さがあることに
気付かされます。

その見え方を受け止め
絵画の中に留めていくこと。

それが、石川美穂のFRAMEです。

A body of works that observes flowers through FRAME.
Flowers are not treated as botanical subjects, but as signs of season, memory, light, and atmosphere.

FRAMEを通して花を見つめる作品群です。
花は植物として説明されるのではなく、季節、記憶、光、空気の気配として現れます。

Time Records

A body of works that records moments of perception through FRAME.
Reflections, windows, evening light, weather, and ordinary scenes become traces of time.

FRAMEを通して、知覚の一瞬を記録する作品群です。
反射、窓、夕方の光、天気、日常の光景が、時間の痕跡として作品の中に留められます。

Washi

和紙(Washi)

A material development within FRAME.

Washi is used not as decoration, but as a membrane for light, creating depth, silence, and layered time.

FRAMEの中で生まれた素材的な展開です。
和紙は装飾ではなく、光を受け止める膜として用いられ、奥行き、静けさ、層の中に留まる時間を生み出します。
